Establishing accurate ticket sizes is an important part of getting your merchant processing account approved and configured correctly. During the application phase, you will be asked to enter these estimated dollar amounts, which should be largely based on:
- Your individual processing history, supported by current monthly processing statements
- Realistic processing volumes for your industry and business type
- Natural growth of your business from year to year
Your processing limits are designed to grow as your business does. While it is typically not required to apply for an increase, it is recommended that you let us know when you are planning to process a larger than normal transaction, or if the volume you regularly process increases drastically. This is especially true during the first few months after approval as you begin to establish a clean processing history. Following best practices ultimately lowers your risk of a funding hold.
